  Made from certified 17-7 PH aircraft-grade stainless steel, the drop-free magazine housing is precision formed and heat-treated to meet the stringent testing guidelines and exact requirement of Military and Law Enforcement agencies around the world. The 17-7 PH stainless steel has a "memory" which offers flexible feeding lips that keep their form, even if submitted to true speed tactical reloading. The feeding lips never misshape. The result is a superior, consistent, reliable feeding performance. Plus the 17-7 PH stainless steel lends to true anticorrosive finish.
  The uncompromised quality of the magazine housing is mandatory also for all other components of this new MEC-GAR 1911 magazine. The fully guided self-lubricating, hardened steel follower provides consistent feeding in all 1911 .45 pistols. The spring is manufactured from higher tensile strength music wire, which has a drawn phosphate coating for easier coiling properties and longer service life.
  The MEC-GAR 1911 magazine also incorporates a new removable synthetic butt-plate, redesigned to fit in funneled mag wells. It is manufactured from a high impact, modified heat stabilized, lubricated synthetic which exhibits excellent resiliency to protect the magazine during tactical reloads.
